A search for spaces of all kinds is one of the harmless passions which I have pursued for many years. Around 20 moves have taken me from apartment to apartment, from studio to studio in my adult life. The search for a suitable home has always been accompanied by the visitation of ominous as well as joyful events, which in turn seemed to make yet another search appear as the appropriate reaction. The ten paintings and six prints in the exhibition follow this comprehensive idea. They reflect facets of an awareness of life located somewhere between a wealth of experience and oppressive confinement as well as the isolation found within the disconcerting freedom of this seemingly boundless reality. The one reconciling thought is the certainty that in completing the task, a reward will be in the waiting.
